Virginia Walker Turner, 86, of Buckeystown, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at the retirement community of Buckingham's Choice in Buckeystown after a long illness.

Born in Beavertown, Snyder County, Pa., in 1926, she was the daughter of Alvin C. Walker and Hallie M. Walker. She was married to Brice W. Turner for 55 years.

She graduated from Beaver Vocational High School and earned her bachelor's degree in music from Susquehanna University and her master's degree from Columbia University.

She taught briefly in public schools in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Her life was devoted to her family and to music as a piano teacher and a player in church and on various occasions.

She was a resident of Buckingham's Choice for the last 12 years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Daniel W. Turner, of Westminster; Hallie T. Weber, of Mount Airy; daughter-in-law Patrice Turner; son-in-law Ronald Weber; and four grandchildren Annalise Evans, Calvin Turner, Bradley Weber and Erin Weber.

She was predeceased by two sisters.
