W. Stephen "Steve" Medlin, 60, of Weeki Wachee, Fla., formerly of Reisterstown, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at home.

Born Dec. 18, 1952, in Carmel, Calif., he was the son of Joan Medlin, of Reisterstown and the late Walter A. Medlin. He was the companion of Sheila Hartlerode, of Weeki Wachee.

He graduated from Franklin Senior High in 1971. He had worked in the construction field most of his life.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, meeting new people, fishing and spending time with his dog, Reese.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and companion, are a daughter, Carrie Medlin, of Taneytown; a grandson, Andrew Barbour, of Taneytown; son Jeffrey Medlin and wife Heather, of Westminster; a grandson, Kendrick Frock, of Westminster; a granddaughter, Kylie Medlin, of Westminster; brothers Paul Medlin and wife Lori, of Mayo, and Phil Medlin and wife Janine, of Harwood; a sister, Nancy Rohde, of Anchorage, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, April 6, at Farmer Tom's, 427 Cockeys Mill Road, Reisterstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to help defray funeral costs to Carroll County Youth Service Bureau, attn: Stephen Medlin Fund, 59 Kate Wagner Road, Westminster, MD 21157, with checks made payable to CCYSB. Remaining funds will be donated to Carroll County Youth Service Bureau.
