Waldemar J. Lachmann, 90, of Hanover, Pa., died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.

Born Oct. 20, 1921 in Germany, he was a son of the late Josef and Maria Preissner Lachmann and the husband of the late Ingeborg S. Kuhnert Lachmann.

He retired in 1982 from Black & Decker, where he was a machinist, and was also a cabinet maker for H. H. Crouse for many years. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the National Rifle Association. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are daughters Roswitha Geiman of Hanover, Pa., and Margaret Kallas of Spring Grove; brother Leonard Lachmann of Germany; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, W. Maria Oaster; and a brother, Hans Lachmann.

The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, Pa. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kathryn A. Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yellow Breeches Anglers & Conservation Association, Inc., Box 1, Boiling Springs, PA 17007-0001 or to the National Rifle Association, P. O. Box 420648, Palm Coast, FL 32142-0648.
