Walter Walker Drechsler Jr., 51, of Westminster, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at home.

Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Walter Walker Drechsler Sr., and S. Lucille Waddell Drechsler, of Westminster. He was the husband of Trudy Ann Myers Drechsler, his wife of 22 years.

He was a graduate of Westminster High School Class of 1978. He played the trumpet in the band at the high school.

He was employed at Farmers Supply and Taylors Equipment, and currently was at Finch Services as a mechanic since 2005. He also farmed.

He enjoyed gardening, and fixing up and tinkering with farm equipment and old International Harvester tractors. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Mason Dixon Historical Society and the Maryland Steam Historical Society.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Frank Sanza, of Plantation, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Deacon Joe Cinquino officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Silver Run.
