Wayne Anthony "Tony" Altomonte Jr., 42, of Westminster, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born March 10, 1970, in Baltimore, he was the son of Viki Anders, Wayne Altomonte Sr. and step-mother Debby Altomonte, all of Manchester, and step-father Charles Straining, of Parkton. He was the husband of Cyndi Altomonte, his wife of 15 years.

He was a fire safety inspector for the State Fire Marshall's Office for eight years. He was a member of the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department.

He was an avid Ravens and NASCAR Fan, especially Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed stock-car racing, visiting Wildwood, N.J., fishing with his daughter and helping others.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are a daughter, Kristie Altomonte, of Westminster; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Julie Altomonte, of Westminster; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Steven and Karen Roberts, of Eldersburg; uncles Alan Anders and wife Suzi, of New York City, N.Y., and Paul Anders, of Ellicott City; nephews Zion Altomonte and Matthew Roberts; a niece, Megan Roberts; and numerous cousins and extended family members.

He was predeceased by a grandfather, Marshall Anders, who died Nov. 15, 2012.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. The family requests everyone attending to wear their favorite NFL Jersey.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at McDonogh School, Tagart Chapel, 8600 McDonogh Road, Owings Mills. The family requests funeral attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department, 4812 Butler Road, P.O. Box 3671, Glyndon, MD 21071.
