Wayne Carroll Whittaker was born in Johnsville, Maryland (Carroll County) on August 27, 1956. He was the son of the late James and Margaret Whittaker. He was predeceased by his sister's Margaret Powell Whittaker and Deborah Whittaker, one brother James Whittaker, Jr., grandmother's: Viola Whittaker and Hollis Lewis and grandfather's: George Whittaker and John Lewis, Sr. He was raised in a home where love, caring, sharing and devotion were taught. He received his formal education in the public schools of Carroll County and graduated from South Carroll High School in 1974. He went on and attended the Community College of Baltimore where he was later drafted by the minor leagues of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Wayne worked at Springfield Hospital Center, Carroll County YMCA before going on and working for a international pharmaceutical company. Doing his spare time Wayne would referee high school and youth basketball games as well as umpiring baseball for little league and minor leagues in Clear Water, Florida. Wayne departed this life on June 30, 2015 in the company of his wife, Anita Elia in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He leaves to cherish his memory of one daughter, Crystal of Finksburg, MD and one son Ryan of Westminster, MD, two grandchildren, one sister Sylvia Christian of Charlotte, NC, and three brother's, Marvin Whittaker of Sykesville, MD, Anthony Whittaker of Yardley, PA and Dennis Whittaker of Randallstown, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Wayne devoted his life to caring for others. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered for his warmth and kindness. As he loved the game of Baseball.
