Wesley Edison Smith, 88, of Owings Mills, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Chapel Hill Nursing Center in Randallstown.

Born May 24, 1925, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Theodore Earl and Bertha N. Triplett Smith. He was the husband of the late Marian P. Smith.

He was a veteran of the Army. He had been a stationary engineer for many years. He was a member of Wards Chapel United Methodist Church in Randallstown.

Surviving are a son, Robert Wesley Smith, of Owings Mills; a daughter, Roxanne M. Kendall, of Owings Mills; sisters-in-law Clarabelle Reisberg Gries, of Randallstown, Cora Varina Smith, of Eldersburg, and Mildred Reisberg, of Marriottsville; grandchildren Sylena Marie Kendall and Charlotte Rose Kendall; and great-grandchildren Evalynn Marie Espada-Rivera and Roarke Robert Kendall.

He was predeceased by a brother, Theodore E. Smith Jr.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Nupp officiating. Interment will be in Wards Chapel UMC Cemetery in Randallstown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Wards Chapel UMC, Heritage Trust, 11023 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD 21133.
