William Baumert "Bill" Braun, II, of Westminster, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Carroll Hospital Dove House. Born on June 26, 1942 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late William B. and Ruth (Bitting) Braun. Bill was married on February 14, 1994 to Kathryn M. Braun, his wife of 23 years. Bill was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserve, serving from 1964 to 1968. Bill is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and the Bank Administration Institute in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a banker with Citizens Bank and Trust Company of Maryland, Suburban Savings in Virginia and Riggs National Bank in Washington, D.C. Most recently, Bill was in sales and marketing at Manchester Manor, until his retirement in 2013. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his son, William Luke Braun of Herndon, VA; step-daughter Kristin Loree Davey deLissovoy (Michael) of Cockeysville; granddaughter Allison Jane deLissovoy; brother Peter N. Braun (Jane) of Herndon, VA. Bill adored his granddaughter, Allison, and enjoyed doing anything that would make her happy. He also enjoyed studying the economy and stock market, as well as spending time improving the couple's five-acre property. Bill volunteered with the Partnership for a Healthy Carroll County, the Carroll County Senior Expo and was a grandparent volunteer at Gerstell Academy. The family will receive friends at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, on Tuesday, July 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. His Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kahlert Regional Cancer Center, 291 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
