On January 15, 2015 William "Bill" DeFord Cosden, Jr. of Randallstown, MD, loving Father of Karen Meyers and William Cosden, III and wife Robin, devoted grandfather of Mary Keiser and husband William, Krista Remmers and husband Eric, Rebekah Decker and husband William, Katie Meyers, Rachel Cosden and Fiancé Justin Harrington and Chad Meyers and wife Katherine, beloved great-grandfather of Benjamin Keiser and Colton Remmers. He transitioned into enteral life to join his beloved wife of 56 years Joanne Hundley Cosden. Bill was born in Easton Maryland on May 8, 1929. He grew up in St Michaels, MD and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Midway for 4 years where he received a victory medal for serving during World War II. At age 23 he married the love of his life, Joanne and eventually relocated their family to Pikesville, MD. In 1960 Bill started Cosden Water Supply Company Incorporated. His wife, son and daughter helped grow the business to what it is today. Bill was a member of the Maryland Delaware Water Well Association for over 40 years. Bill took a strong interest in helping his community and in 1958 joined the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company where he served on the ambulance and loved to help with bingo. He was a life member of Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company with 56 years of service. In the late 60's Bill and his family relocated to Randallstown, MD. Bill also was a longtime member of Pikesville Randallstown Lions Club where he served several terms as president and served on several committees. He was also a recipient of the Lions Club Melvin Jones Award. Bill was a member of the Reisterstown Moose Lodge 1577 as well as the American Legion Liberty Post 122 in Owings Mills, MD. Bill loved fishing, camping, crabbing and spending time with his family. He made friends wherever he went and always put a smile on people's faces. Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road (at Franklin Blvd.) on Monday 3-5 & 7-9pm. Friends may also call at the Jones-Ash Funeral Home, 3735 Ridge Road, Heathsville, VA 22473 on Wednesday 11am to 12 noon, service will begin at 12pm. Interment in Smithland Baptist Church Cemetery, Heathsville, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company at www.pvfd32.org or to the Lions Club International at www.lionsclubs.org
