William Elmer Luebberman, 91, of Westminster, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center.

Born March 20, 1922, in Norwood, Ohio, he was the son of the late William F. and Marie Gavin Luebberman. He was the husband of Betty Jane Metzger Luebberman, who he married Feb. 1, 1945.

He served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific for 2½ years. He had been a land surveyor and then worked for Carroll County Right of Ways.

He enjoyed leatherwork, rug making, reading and traveling with his wife.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Shelley A. and John Steinle, of Westminster; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth "Libby" Luebberman, of Sykesville; and a grandson, Derek S. Steinle, of New York City, N.Y.

He was predeceased by a son, William F. Luebberman, who died Nov. 18, 2012.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Ascension Episcopal Church, 23 N. Court St., Westminster, with the Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. Online condolences may be offered at www.prittsfuneralhome.com.
