William Henry Krautler Jr., 97, of Woodbine, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Dec. 17, 1914, in Savannah, Ga., he was the son of the late William H. Krautler Sr. and Edith Gladys Metcalfe Krautler. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Saunders Krautler, his wife of 52 years.

He was a planner, estimator and machinist for the U.S. Naval Ordnance Lab. He enjoyed playing the saxophone. He worked on the farm all the time.

Surviving are children Diane Ashelford and William H. Krautler III; grandchildren Edward Michael Ashelford, James Robert Ashelford, Carol Lynn Ashelford, Jim Baker Krautler, Bill H. Krautler IV, and Mark Gordon Krautler.

He was predeceased by a sibling, Marion Krautler.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Interment will be in Morgan Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Woodbine.
