William M. "Billy" Rippeon Jr., 54, of Westminster, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, of heart complications, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Jan. 5, 1959, in Baltimore, he was the son of Barbara Ann Knapp Rippeon and the late William M. Rippeon Sr.

He was a master electrician and an electrical engineer. He received his master's degree in electrical engineering. He was an Eagle Scout.

He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, computers, and spending time with family and his dog, Dolly.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are sister and brother-in-law Deborah F. and Timothy C. Franklin, of Westminster; brother and sister-in-law Robert S. and Yvette C. Rippeon, of Westminster; aunts and uncles Beverly A. and Wayne S. Merkel, of Westminster, Ann Teitelbaum, of Frederick, and Floyd Rippeon, of Phoenix, Ariz.; nephews Luke, Evan and Wyatt Rippeon, of Westminster; and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Steen officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville.
