William Peter "Bill" Shandrowski, 65, of Westminster, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Oct. 29, 1948, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Paul William and Hilda Whitmore Shandrowski. He was the husband of Kathleen Jessie Riggin Shandrowski, his wife of 43 years.

He was a veteran of the Army and served in Vietnam from 1969 until 1970. He worked for Baltimore Gas & Electric Company for 29 years in television repair and as a fiberoptic network technician before his retirement.

He enjoyed his flower and vegetable gardening, fishing with his brother-in-law, Alvin Clatterbuck, his involvement with the Taneytown Senior Center, and vacationing in Tacoma, Washington, with his granddaughters Lily and Jessie. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown.

He enjoyed his many pets he had over the years, was known to have a passion for food and dining out with family, enjoyed loud music, and especially riding motorcycles and ATVs with his daughters, their friends, and his nieces and nephews.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Kathleen Jill Shandrowski, of Baltimore, and Joy Shandrowski Coale, of Tacoma; a son-in-law, Paul Warner Coale, of Tacoma; granddaughters Lily and Jessie Coale; sister Carolyn Brock, of Crothersville, Indiana, and twin sister, Peggy Wilson, of Berkley Springs, West Virginia; a mother-in-law, Beverly Bradley, of Owings Mills; cousins Harold and Irma Tritch, of Hagerstown; a brother-in-law, Alvin Clatterbuck, of Hampstead; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by sisters Paula Clatterbuck and Hilda Sajor.

The family will receive family and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date.
