William "Bill" Yohn III, age 79, of Westminster, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House after a brief illness. Born July 2, 1937 in Westminster, he was the son of the late William Yohn Jr. and Mabel Lovell Yohn. Bill was a graduate of Mt. Airy High School and was a lifelong farmer on the family farm, Maple Lawn Farm of Dennings. He was a member of the Carroll County and Maryland State Farm Bureaus and the N.R.A. He enjoyed hunting, especially for deer on his farm and bear hunting in Canada. Surviving are children, Lorene "Lori" Yohn of New Oxford, PA and William Yohn IV and wife Deborah of Manchester; 7 grandchildren, step grandson, Shane Krieger; 5 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Patricia Koontz of Kissimmee, FL and Jalna Schaeffer of Frizzellburg. He was predeceased by infant daughter, Anita Yohn and a son, Bradley Yohn in 2013. The family will receive friends at St. James United Methodist Church, 2900 Marston Rd., 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 19. A brief memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
