Wilson Atley Arbaugh, age 74, of Taneytown, died suddenly Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born April 12, 1942 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Atley and Helen Strevig Arbaugh. He was the husband of Mary Ellen Stonesifer Arbaugh, his wife of 48 years. Wilson was a 1960 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He was a dairy farmer, then was employed with Smith & Reifsnider Lumber Co., Westminster. He later became self-employed in woodworking, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed yard work, exhibiting pure-bred chickens and spending time with his family. He was a life member of Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren and was active in 4-H all of his life. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Lynn Wildisan and husband Keith of Westminster; Donna Jean Rinehart and husband Todd of Libertytown and son, Michael W. Arbaugh and wife Tonna of Westminster; 7 grandchildren, Dylan, Ben, Brad, Brandon, Maddie, Tara and Caitlyn; sister, Mary Louise Dotterer of Johnsville; sister-in-law, Becky Arbaugh and brother-in-law, William Heltzel, both of Union Bridge. He was predeceased by sister, Janet Heltzel, brother, John H. Arbaugh and brother-in-law, David Dotterer. A funeral service will be held at Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren, 26 Pipe Creek Rd. at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, with Rev. Steve Lowe, his pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 10 and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carroll County 4-H/FFA Fair, P.O. Box 97, Westminster, MD 21158 or to the Maryland State Poultry Fanciers Association, P.O. Box 459, Fulton, MD 20759.
