Winifred E. "Freddy" Miller died peacefully in her sleep at age 90 at Copper Ridge Nursing Facility, Sykesville, on Friday, July 7, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Nellie and Maurice Late of Middleburg. Her first husband was John E. Shorb who owned the Crossroads Inn in Keymar. She was then married to Robert M. Miller of Keymar for 38 years until his death in 2001. Mrs. Miller drove school buses in Carroll County for 20+ years, owned and operated the Trotting Inn in Littlestown, PA for several years and worked at the Havilah Inn in Taneytown for Joe and Bonnie Fitzgerald for many years. Freddy was a member of the Republican Women's Club of Taneytown for many years and she enjoyed gardening and her dogs. Surviving are 2 sons, Randy Shorb and Tammy Clegg of Bumpass, VA and Jay Shorb of Keysville; 2 grandchildren, John Shorb and wife Kiersten of Oak Harbor, WA and Dan Shorb and wife Traci of Freemont, NH and great grandsons, Jack, Logan, Ethan and Rand Shorb. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be in Haugh's Cemetery, Ladiesburg at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Hesson-Snider Post 120, 9 Broad St., Taneytown, MD 21787.
