Mary Virginia Zimmerman, 54, of Taneytown, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Nov. 2, 1957, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Evelyn Humbert, of Taneytown, and the late Paul Humbert. She was the wife of David Zimmerman, her husband of 32 years.

She was a computer programmer for Random House in Westminster for more than 20 years. More recently, she worked for Alarm Watch Security Company in Hunt Valley.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baust United Church of Christ in Tyrone. She enjoyed books and was involved in Book Crossing. She enjoyed reading, spending time on her computer and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are a daughter, Dori Zimmerman, of Taneytown; sister Kathy Caprarola and husband Paul, of Taneytown; a brother, Richard Humbert, of Taneytown; sister-in-law Faye McAdams and husband Ed, of Eldersburg; brothers-in-law Marvin Zimmerman and wife Dottie, of Middletown, and Austin Zimmerman and wife Jane, of Edgewood; a mother-in-law, Doris Zimmerman, of Taneytown; father-in-law David Zimmerman and wife Jane, of Littlestown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters-in-law Jane Younkins and Janet Zimmerman.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown. 

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Elza Hurst officiating. Interment will follow at Baust Church Cemetery.

Doug we were so sorry to hear of your loss of your wife. I just found out about it today in at the Frederick Fair. I was talking to Larue Stevens and she told me about it. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Helen & Blaine Young
