Edward Zepp Obituary

Edward Clarence Zepp, 61, of Westminster, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at home.

Born July 3, 1951, in Baltimore, he was the son of Edward S. Zepp, of Westminster, and the late Margaret T. Risso.

He graduated from Westminster High School in 1969 before working at Springfield Hospital. Later, he became an insurance billing specialist for several doctors' offices and since 2008, he had been employed with Carroll Hospital Center as an insurance claims biller.

He liked rescuing all animals in need and caring for strays in his neighborhood. Working part time at the Carroll County Farm Museum's gift shop, he enjoyed learning about Carroll's history. He was an avid reader and always had a book close at hand. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, and and his dog, Molly.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Jim Miller; brother and sister-in-law Darrell and Elizabeth Zepp; half sisters Crystal and Nicole Zepp; nephews James and wife Brittany Edie, and Patrick Griggs; nieces Maggie and Dani Zepp, all of Westminster; a stepmother, Barbara Zepp; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of a memorial service, 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 833 Deer Park Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Dahl Drenning officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21157.

Arrangements are by Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services in Westminster.

dear family of Ed.....Ed was the reason we survived raising our child Tommy Bair...Ed worked for the organization where Tommy was in day care...as time went on Ed became my anchor....our time out....as he would babysit and be there for us....We loved him unconditionally....our sadness cannot be expressed adequately....this guy was a gentle giant....kind....funny....sensitive.....willing to help...devoted...a great friend...our wish for all who knew Ed to celebrate his life. This tragedy is deep....may each of you find comfort in who he was and will always be in our hearts.. Rest in peace dear man, rest in peace.....Our Tommy would agree if he was able....

R.I.P my dear friend...Ed I will truly miss you and your laugh, you have and always will be a good friend, one whom had a heart of gold. You were always there for me when things got rough at work and I will forever be grateful to you for that. Now that you have your angel wings, watch over your family with them, and let yourself fly free. I loved you like a brother and I will miss our phone conversations and your e-mails. I love you and enjoy your new life, and some day we will again meet at the pearly white gates to heaven.
