Amber Godbey, 17, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Born Jan. 20, 1999, in Boyle County. She was the daughter of Scott Godbey and Amanda Rodgers Eads. She was a senior at the Casey County High School, a member of Future Business Leader of America and actively involved with the Casey County Drama Club. Amber was a member of the Bethelridge United Methodist Church and was active in her youth group.

Survivors include her father, Scott Godbey of Bethelridge; her mother, Amanda Rodgers (Mitchell) Eads of Liberty; her maternal grandmother, Virginia Rodgers of Liberty; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Darlene Godbey of Liberty; three brothers, Phil (Lenna) Godbey of Hyden, Austin Eads of Boone County and Brandon Eads of Lexington; three sisters, Becky (Paul) Streeval of Liberty, Ashley Eads of Liberty and Kelsie Godbey of Bethelridge; and her second mom, Margaret Brown of Liberty.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Luther Rodgers.

The funeral is at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Casey County High School Gym with Brothers Don Clark and Gene Sweet officiating. A private burial follows on Friday in Whited Cemetery.

Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty and from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Casey County High School Gymnasium.

Memorial contributions may be given to Casey County Drama Club c/o Jerusha Sweeney, 75 College St.. Liberty, KY 42539.

Pallbearers are Greg Brown, Harvey Wethington, Larry Rodgers, Kenneth Rodgers, Jordan Lynn and Roger Haste. Honorary pallbearers are the 2017 Casey County High School Class.
