Carl Meece of Ky. 910 in Casey County passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side. He was 72. Born Friday, April 25, 1941 in Casey County, he was a son of the late Henry and Sylvia Richardson Meece. Carl was a farmer and a member of the Baptist faith. He served as Deputy Sheriff for four years under Ray Overstreet and then served as Sheriff of Casey County for 16 years. Carl also served as Casey County Judge-Executive for four years. He was also a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his dear wife, whom he wed on Aug. 28, 1958, Carol Roy Meece; two sons, Mike and Mark Meece, both of Liberty; a brother, Doug (and Janice) Meece of Windsor; a sister, Gola Mae McDonald of Danville, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Chad and Shelby Meece. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Bennie, Donald and Danny Mitchell Meece. Fun-eral services were Nov. 29 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Springs Cemetery. Members of the Casey County Sheriff's Department served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Clevie Rodgers, Ronnie Luttrell, Tommy Luttrell, David Brockman, Jimmy Antle, Ralph Mings, Larry Bowmer, Gary Baldock, Hershel Price, Tom Weddle, Winford Harris, Richard Lawson, Brent Clements, Ronnie Thomas, Haskel Hall, Steve Fox, Danny Burton and Phillip Godbey.
