Clarence Rigney


Clarence Rigney of Liberty died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2012 at the V.A. Medical Center. He was 86. Born in Argyle on Aug. 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Albert and Florence Foster Rigney. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Bernice Estes Rigney. Survivors include a daughter, Chandra Leaverton of Richmond; a son, James Monroe Rigney of Richmond; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother; and a sister. Funeral services were Jan. 5 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherman Floyd officiating. Burial was at Watson's Chapel Cemetery with military rites.
