Delois Fair Taylor of Ellisville, Miss., died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Miss. She was 79. Delois always had a smile to share and was loved by many friends. She was known by all who knew her as "Grandma Dee." She enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren, especially taking them fishing, and working in her yard. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Taylor Walters (and Mark) of Ellisville, Miss. and Sue-Ellen Anderson (and Kevin) of Carmel, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith Butt (and Duane) of Brazil, Ind.; two sisters, Doris "Corky" Waddle and Dixie Mayfield, both of Somerset; grandchildren, Ashley Smith Zavela (and Allen) of Mt. Zion, Ill., Austin Smith (and Courtney) of Noblesville, Ind., Zane Anderson of Carmel, Ind., Chelsea Walters of Ellisville, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Emerson Kate Zavela and Hadley Gray Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews. Delois is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. George O. "G.O." and Nettie Marie Fair; her first husband and high school sweetheart, Glenn Smith, who was the father of her first two children, Bob and Karen; her late husband, James R. Taylor with whom she shared many years and two daughters, Lisa and Sue-Ellen; a son, Robert G. Smith; a daughter, Patricia Karen Smith Richards; and a sister, Ila Jennings. A memorial service was held Aug. 10 at Covington County Church of Christ with Bro. Mike Conley and Bro. Gregory Michael Cole officiating. A second memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 in the Family Life Center of Liberty Baptist Church in Bronston. Bro. Ulanda Price will officiate. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lipodystrothy United Organization, 120 Kensington Court, Mt. Zion, IL 62549.
