Dortha Rosa (Coker) Grider

Dortha Rosa Coker Grider, 83, of Liberty, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, in Danville.

Born on April 18, 1933, in Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sally Jenkins Coker. Dortha was a minister for 48 years. For the last 26 years, she preached at Stanford Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, loved her family to the fullest and was a Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan.

Survivors include her husband, William Floyd Grider; a daughter, Linda (deceased husband, Steve) Kidd of Gravel Switch; and two sons, Charles (MaryAnn) Grider of Elkhorn and William (Louise) Grider Jr. of Liberty; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Steven, Dawn, Todd, Stephanie, Samantha and Alecia; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five sisters.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty with Brother Mike Sparkman officiating.
Burial follows in Casey County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Daniel Kidd, Steven Kidd, Todd Grider, Andrew Kidd, Jacob Kidd, Charlie Grider, John Lowe and Dylan Johnson.
