Charlotte Elaine Burris Wesley, age 85, of Liberty passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington. She was the widow of Dr. Lewis E. Wesley. She is survived by her son, Dr. Bradford Wesley and his wife, Sherri, of Liberty. Born Dec. 1, 1928 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley (Jack) and Rena Allen Burris. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Stanley Lewis and Lewis E. Wesley, Jr.; and her brother, Bennie Burris. She is survived by her sister, Lorene (and Bill) Maupin of Campbellsville; and sister-in-law, Katherine Burris. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Elaine was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association since she graduated in 1949 and a "Big Blue Fan." Elaine was a real estate broker sales person. She was an active member of The Central Kentucky Woman's Club of Lexington for many years and served on numerous committees. Funeral services were March 17 at the Liberty United Methodist Church with Bruce Hiner, J.D. Shipp, and Walter Arnold officiating. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were nephews and great nephews, Stanley and Chris Burris, Joe, David, and Casey Maupin, John and Jim Nally and Aaron Shipp. Honorary pallbearers were nieces and great nieces. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that condolences be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Hustonville Christian Church.
