Janice Carman McElroy of Danville died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 73. Born in Yosemite on Jan. 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Clyde C. and Magnolia Statham Durham. She was a former employee of the Salvation Army and Gentiva, and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Frank McElroy and Arlious Carman. Survivors include four sons, Jeffrey (and Donna) Carman of Liberty, Michael (and Deborah) Carman of Middleburg, Kevin (and Jenna) Carman of Yosemite and John (and Angela) Carman of Berea; 11 grandchildren, Craig, Chad, Chris, Matthew, Jonathan, Jeremy, Adam, Meagan and Haley Carman, Lori Brown and Ashley Vest; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Norman Durham of Milford, Ohio; two sisters, Joyce Lloyd of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jewell Hawkins of Yosemite; two half-sisters, Kim Edwards of Liberty and Marsha Salyers of Kings Mountain. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Russell; and a half-sister, Connie Dick. Funeral services were Feb. 4 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Haste and Bro. Keith Bowling officiating. Burial was at K.P. Hall Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Craig, Chad, Chris, Matthew, Jeremy and Adam Carman. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Powell, P.D. Lanham, John Wethington, Denver Durham, Harold Wilson and Bro. Keith Bowling. Bartle Funeral Home Liberty was in charge of arrangements. www.bartlefuneralhome.com.
