Jerry Joseph Hoskins of Liberty died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at U.K. Medical Center. He was 68. Born in Liberty on June 20, 1945, he was the son of the late Elmer and Rudell Allen Hoskins. He was the insurance agency manager at Casey County Farm Bureau for 29 1/2 years. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve, a member of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance State Board of Directors from 1971-1983, was in the Angus cattle business and worked with Tennessee Walking horses, as well as thoroughbreds, for years. He also served on the Boards of Directors for the Central Kentucky AG/EXPO Center and Monticello Banking Company. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Galloway Hoskins; three children, Todd (and Tracie) Hoskins of Liberty, Rachyl (and Darin) Cundiff of Liberty and Clay Hoskins of Liberty; eight grandchildren, Dakota, Riley, Linnie Brooke, Lane and Laci Hoskins, and Karis, Karmen and Karter Cundiff; two brothers, Elwood (and Susan) Hoskins of Liberty and Garland (and Dale) Hoskins of Liberty; and a sister, Hilda Masden of Mt. Washington. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Bryan Hoskins. Funeral services were June 2 at First Christian Church. Burial was at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Beeler, Randall Durham, James Coffey, Brad Vaughn, Pat Masden and Gary Redder. Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Grider, Benny Scott, Mark and Doug Wolford, Larry Ware, Gary Murphy, Vallard Goode, Lonnie Mullins, David Stringer and Morris Myers. Bartle Funeral Home Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
