John Russell


John C. Russell died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home in Paris, Tenn. He was 82. Born April 19, 1930 in Casey County, he was the son of the late John W. and Lucy Ann Murphy Russell. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during the Korean Conflict from 1948 to 1951, having achieved the rank of corporal. Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Miller Russell; a daughter, Jane R. Coddington of Tustin, Calif.; four sons, James L. Russell, Jack C. Russell, and Billy R. Russell all of Paris, Tenn. and Jeffery A. Russell of Cottage Grove, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 10) at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. J.D. McDonald officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad and the U.S. Army Fort Knox Honor Guard. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until the funeral service.
