Oakley Mac Durham (1923 - 2016)

Oakley Mac Durham, 92, of Yosemite, went to be with our Lord Monday, Jan. 11, 2016.
He was born April 16, 1923, the son of the late Ransom and Rosie Bastin Durham of Mt. Olive. He wed Ines Ross on June 7, 1942.
He was a retired farmer, commercial construction superintendent, and home builder. He loved cabinet building and wood working. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Lexington.
He was adored by two loving daughters, Bonnie (and Terry) Spates and Judy (and Gary) Carman. He has one special grandson and four special granddaughters.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church since 1935.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He has one surviving sister, Rethel (and Donald) Bunton of Amelia, Ohio.
Oakley's pain and suffering and trials of this life ended peacefully with his wife and daughter Judy beside him when the angels took him home. He is rejoicing with the Lord and family and friends who preceded him.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Christian Church with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Durham Cemetery with military funeral honors by the Casey County Honor Guard. Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral on Wednesday at the church.
