Oris B. "Dean" Mullins, 91, of Yosemite, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was born in Mt. Olive on April 26, 1923, the son of the late Robert Lee and Eliza Jane Ellison Mullins. He was a farmer and a member of Eubank Baptist Church. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Wesley Mullins; six children, Wilma Jean (and Danny) Sipe of Versailles, Travis Dean (and Brenda) Mullins of Crab Orchard, Vernie Ray (and Patty) Mullins of Corbin, Judy Kay (and Mike) True of Liberty, James Dale (and Karen) Mullins of Nicholasville and Scott Nevale (and Becky) Mullins of Somerset; 14 grandchildren, Jeff (and Cindy) Floyd, Laurie (and Mike) Hamby, Deana (and Chris) Caldwell, Kaitlyn Mullins, Lucas Mullins, Adam Mullins, David Mullins, Susan Mullins, Katie (and Tyler) Mills, Matt (and Jeania) True, Kim True, Hannah (and Andy) Mitchell, Tess (and Alex) Bechel and Jacob (and Alison) Mullins; and 16 great-grandchildren, Payton Floyd, Lauren Floyd, Clayton Hamby, Nate Hamby, Erin Hamby, Laynie Caldwell, Emory Lucas, Brady Mullins, Bailey Mills, Avery Mills, Anna True, Wesley True, Mason Bechel, Gavin Bechel, Cate Mullins and Lila Mullins. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Walter, Arthur, Charlie, Luther, Homer, Roy and Edward; five sisters, Laura, Nora, Elsie, Wilma and one who died in infancy; and a great-grandchild, William Joseph Floyd. A funeral service was held July 7 at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Martin and Rev. Mike Hamby officiating. Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Morris and Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
