Paul Wesley of Liberty died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 96. Born in Liberty on April 18, 1917, he was the son of the late Eli G. and Flora McAninch Wesley. He was the former owner of Wesley Drug Company, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Ruth Sweeney Wesley. Survivors include two daughters, Paula Wesley of Lexington and Kathy (and Jerry) Zachary of Liberty; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Rathmel, Cranston and Malcolm Wesley; and five sisters, Ibby Wesley, Georgia Humphrey, Emma Morgan, Osa Coop and Lula Stamp. Funeral services were Jan. 2 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Patton officiating. Burial was at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve and Don Sweeney, Larry Morgan, Brad Wesley, Johnny Dando and Garland Hoskins. Honorary pallbearers were Marion Murphy, Delbert Morgan, Donna Rigney, Kathleen Wesley, Elaine Wesley, David McAnelly and Edward Cundiff Jr. Bartle Funeral Home Liberty was in charge of arrangements.
