Ruby Carol Leigh, 70, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 2, 1946, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Ora Tackett Johnson. She was an unemployment specialist for the State of Kentucky. Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former employee of the Commonwealth First Federal Savings and Loan in Liberty. In earlier years, she was active in the local American Cancer Society. Ruby loved working in her herbs and flower gardens.

Survivors include her beloved husband, James Roger Leigh, whom she married May 24, 1965; a son, Kirk (Kathryn) Leigh of Danville; a daughter, Robyn Slone of Danville; two grandchildren, Alexa Slone and Zach Leigh; two brothers, Larry (Sue) Johnson and Gary (Susan) Johnson, both of Paintsville; and a sister, JoAnn (Gary) Melvin of Paintsville.

The funeral was Saturday, Dec. 3, at First Baptist Church with Brother Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alexa Slone, Zach Leigh, Gary Johnson, Larry Johnson, Gary Terry, Gordon Haney and Tommy Woods.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church, 300 Hustonville St., Liberty, KY 42539.
