Shirley Bolt Garrett, 84, of Campbellsville, died Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Lexington.

She was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Casey County, the daughter of the late George Ellis Bolt and Eva West Bolt. Shirley professed her faith in the Lord Jesus at an early age and was a faithful member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church for 53 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, a girls auxiliary leader and a member of the women's group and kitchen committee. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, quilting and working in her flower garden. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Randy Garrett of Campbellsville, Brent Garrett and wife, Brigitte, and Lisa Nelson and husband, Greg, of Lexington, Sharon Fowler and husband, Jerry, of Lebanon, and Kerry Cundiff and wife, Connie, of Liberty; a daughter-in-law, Diane Smith and husband, Troy, of Campbellsville; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; three brothers and a sister, Howard Bolt of Liberty, Chester Bolt of Indianapolis, Roger Bolt of San Antonio and Marjorie Linkenhoker of Franklin, Indiana; and many other relatives and friends.

She also was preceded in death by a son and daughter, Barry Garrett on Jan. 3, 1992 and Tonya Garrett Oliver on Jan. 27, 2017; her first great-great-grandchild, Vera Clark; and a sister, Freida Davis.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Jim Durham. Burial follows in Cold Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Casey County.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to assist the Raganas family and be made to the funeral home.
