William Edward Cochran, 71, of Liberty, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at V.A. Medical Center in Louisville.

He was born Sept. 14, 1946, in Jeffersonville, Indiana the a son of the late Wilburn and Matrie Cundiff Buck. He was the widower of Glenda Fay Curry Cochran. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Besides his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Gary Cochran; and a sister, Norma Wheat.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Fay (David) Volz of Somerset; a son, William Douglas (Melissa) Cochran of Liberty; four grandchildren, Jessica Fay Campbell, Natasha Leann Thomas, Amber Nicole Hoskins and William Ethan Cochran; two great-grandchildren, Reagan Thomas and Connor Jones; a brother, Ronnie Cochran of Richmond; and three sisters, Linda Evans of Anderson, Indiana, Joyce Wethington of Liberty and Dean Smothers of Bradfordsville.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty with the Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial with Military Honors performed by the Casey County Honor Guard follows in Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, and continues at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb 27 at the funeral home.
