William Lee "Bill" Jones Jr. of Hustonville died at his home on Sunday, April 14, 2013. He was 89. Born in Glendale, Ariz. on Dec. 29, 1923, he was the son of late William Lee and Sallie Estes Jones. Bill graduated from Hustonville High School and was a PFC in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a lifelong farmer and loved building, traveling, making furniture, inventing tools and gadgets, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. Bill was a member of the First Christian Church in Hustonville where he served as a deacon. He will be remembered for his clever wit, his gentle demeanor, and his willingness to help others. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Nell Schrader; a daughter, Jan Banks of Liberty; and many friends and neighbors. Other survivors include two grandsons, Boyd (and Shelby) of Roseville, Calif. and Andrew (and Cassadee) of Liberty; and three great-grandchildren, Tristin, Lauren and Cayden. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Lynn; a sister, Lidabel Cochran; and a son-in-law, David. Memorials are suggested to the Casey County Public Library, Heritage Hospice or a charity of your choice. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Hustonville Christian Church at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 21. W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland is in charge of arrangements.
