Fannie Bluitt

COLUMBUS - Fannie Bluitt, 85, died Sept. 20, 2012. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Glenn Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Raphael S. Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Sandfield Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon to 5 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home. Mrs. Bluitt was born May 21, 1927, to the late Logan Petty and Fannie Patterson Petty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gentle Lee Bluitt Sr.; sons, Tom Bluitt and Gentle Lee Bluitt Jr.; brothers, Pearlie Bluitt and T.C. Odem; and sisters, Sally Petty, Bertha O'Neal and Earnestine Petty. Survivors include her children, Willie Pearl Bluitt, Jerry Bluitt, Sally Lavender, Kenneth Bluitt, Perry Bluitt, Donald Bluitt and Anthony Bluitt; sister, Mattie Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Kevin Brown, Larry Hudgins, Darren Jordan, William McCottrell, Johnny McGregory and Dennis Sherrod.
