SAD TO HEAR OF THIS I VOTED FOR IN EVERY ELECTION BEFORE MOVING TO BORTH CAROLINA. HE WAS A FELLOW OXFORD SCHOLLAR THAT SHARES RIDE TOATTEND THE OXFORD CAMBRIDGE DINNER . I WAS NOT AWARE OF HIS DEATH BUT I KNOW MUST BE MISSED IN THE SENATE, HE WAS A GREAT MAN AND DEDICTED AMERICAN LEGISLATURE AND PUBLIC SERVANT OF THE HIGHEST MORAL FIBER AND ETHICS, SOMETHING OF VALUED IN WASHINGTON FOR SURVIVAL OF DEMOCRACY.

Sending prayers to Senator Sarbanes' family. I was able to stay employed because of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation. God has a way of working things out in our greatest time of need. May God's angels protect and comfort his family.

Our deepest condolences to the Sarbanes family. My parents spoke so highly of his brother Anthony and the whole Sarbanes family. Anthony was the principal of the high school I attended in Salisbury, MD. He helped my dad get a job after his laundry Lee Laundry went out of business. So honored to have known the Sarbanes family...Thank you for your service.

Through decades of admirable service to the people of Maryland and to our country, it was my privilege to work with Senator Sarbanes on the Senate Banking Committee staff and in various other professional relationships. He was an honorable man and it was my honor to know, and work, with him.

So sorry to hear of your family's loss.
Sen. Sarbanes served our country as a caring and ethical civil servant. I wanted to share my story of his profound influence in my life.
I had been rehired by the Federal government as a professional a few years after the birth of my children. I was given a 1 year temporary status, but rather than converting that status, it was renewed for another year in 1981. When Reagan became president, he ordered all government temp positions to be released and I received my pink slip. I will never forget Sen. Sarbanes stepping in and creating an exception for myself and several other women in my department who were caught in this circumstance. I can't imagine how differently my life would have been without my career and the benefits it allowed me to provided to those I served. Thank you again, Sen. Sarbanes.

As understated as he was, the greatness of Paul Sarbanes can scarcely be overstated. He was the primary author of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and by the time he retired the U.S. Senate, he had cast more than 11,200 votes on behalf of his constituents in the Old Line State. He was also arguably the greatest among a number of great Greek Americans, and vigorously promoted and defended Hellenic issues and interests throughout his long and distinguished career. He was a proud American who never forgot his immigrant roots, and his legacy is most richly expressed in his son, Congressman John Sarbanes, who has nobly and ably continued serving the residents of Maryland as his father did. May the memory of Senator Sarbanes be everlasting, and may the Good Lord comfort the Sarbanes family during their grieving process.

I played the senator in a model Senate and Senator Jim Allen 's AA said Sen Sarbanes knew parliamentary procedure and someone asked him which one and he said both. Met him later, may he rest in peace.
