Richard T. Miller Jr. May 1, 1938 January 18, 2019 Richard T. Miller, Jr., husband of Floretta (Guise-wite) Miller, 80, of 3845 Narrows Rd., Tylersville, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019, at UPMC Lock Haven. Born in Lock Haven on May 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Richard T. Sr. and Rhea P. (Shreckengast) Miller. He was a 1955 graduate of the former Sugar Valley High School, Loganton. Floretta and Richard were wed in April 12, 1958, and shared over 60 years of marriage together. Richard was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Wood, Wire and Metal Lathers International Local Union #511. He was a lifelong member of the St. John United Church of Christ, Tylersville. Richard was presently serving as the President of the Tylersville Water Authority, a member of the Farm Bureau and former Board Member of the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School, Loganton. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing, also he raised all types of domestic and farm animals. Along with his wife, he is survived by five sons, Richard Miller, David Miller (Wendy) and Larry Miller, all of Tylersville, Michael Miller, of Bellefonte, and Steven Miller, of Lock Haven; two daughters, Gwendolyn Hayes (George), of Tylersville, and Cheryl Calzada, of Loganton; two brothers, Karl Miller (Denise), of Salida, Colo., and Kenneth Miller (Patricia), of Lamar; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Elaine "Toots" McClintic. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. in St. John United Church of Christ 3782 Narrows Rd., Tylersville, with Rev. Nancy Kuhns officiating. A visitation will be held in the church on Friday from 5-7 p.m. If desired, memorials may be made in Richard's name to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Private interment will be held at a later date in Tylersville Community Cemetery, Tylersville. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 East Main St., Loganton.
