Betty J. Genua January 16, 1940 July 10, 2018 Betty J. Genua, 78, of Bellefonte, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born in Bellefonte, on January 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Levina "Peg" (Miller) Kline. She was married to the love of her life, Robert "Bobby" Genua, who preceded her in death on August 10, 2014, after sharing 57 years of marriage together. Betty was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and went on to attend beauty school in Williamsport. She worked as a nurse's aide at Centre Crest for 17 years before retiring. Most recently, she retired from the State College Area School District where she worked in the cafeteria. Betty is survived by five children, Robert Genua, Jr. of Flagstaff, Ariz., Bernadette Genua, of Tucson, Ariz., Bridgette Genua (Bobby Benner), of Bellefonte, Bill Genua (Samantha and her daughter, Alice), of State College, and Brian Genua (Suzette), of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Sara Benner, Talyn Genua, Jadyn Genua, and Robert Jack Genua. Also surviving are three sisters, Janet Teaman (Larry), of Bellefonte, Carol Shilling (Ralph), of Bellefonte, and Mary; and one brother, Bob Kline (Sandy), of Bellefonte. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Deb Cox; and one brother, Edward Kline, Jr. Betty was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. She enjoyed taking trips with her husband to the casinos. She was especially fond of her soap operas. Her greatest joy in life was her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
