Miriam Elaine Robb Miriam Elaine Robb, passed, May 8, 2018, after a brave and dignified battle with metastatic breast cancer. Miriam's loss is deeply grieved. She will be missed greatly by her adult children, grand and great- grandchildren. Miriam was born in 1932, in Johnstown, to Curtis Mull and Odetta Rager. Miriam was an amazing, creative, talented, smart, strong, gregarious, feisty and loving mother. The family will hold a private memorial. Memorial donations may be made to centralpafoodbank.org. Miriam was valedictorian of her 1950 senior class at Johnstown High School. Miriam attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania on full scholarship pursuing a degree in education. She married Luther Robb on his return from active duty in the U.S. Navy in 1953. Shortly after, Miriam and Luther moved to State College so Luther could attend Penn State University. They started their family in Park Forest Village in 1954. Possessed with innate creative ability, Miriam was a talented artist, sculptor, painter, gardener, singer and seamstress. She was the head window dresser and fashion designer for Penn Traffic department store in Johnstown creating remarkable window displays. In State College, Miriam was a local "legend" in gardening and landscape architecture. She designed, created and installed terraced flower beds and a variety of unique exotic trees, flowers and plants at the North Oak Lane home. She also developed a line of hybrid, multi-colored daylilies. Miriam was a Centre County Republican Committee Woman. Post-divorce, Miriam obtained her insurance and real estate licenses and became a successful professional sales person. For 30 years Miriam worked in antiques and collectibles, her pleasure and passion. She was highly educated with respect to the value, provenance and significance of antique and collectible items. Miriam was an original "American picker." The Robb family wishes to give heartfelt thanks to the compassionate, caring and respectful medical and administrative staff of the Valley View Retirement Community in Belleville, who cared for Miriam in recent years.
