Theresa Honeycutt Obituary

Theresa Crow Honeycutt, a beautiful soul has been taken to her heavenly home at 98 years of age. She was born on March 4, 1920 and went to be with her Savior on May 15, 2018 . Theresa was born in Vian, OK, into the loving family of her father, Zelmer and mother, Jessie Crow. Her family moved to southern California during her childhood. After living many years in San Bernardino, California, she then settled in Charlotte. She enjoyed a lifespan of so many technological advances and progressive developments it is wonderful to imagine what the twentieth century was like.

Theresa Crow Honeycutt leaves behind her son, James Benson and his wife Leilani along with their son, Derek, their daughter, Wendy, who preceded her in death. Theresa is survived by her daughter, Patricia and her husband, Lawrence Bobo along with their three children, Matthew, Scott and his wife Denise, Sarah and her husband Harish. Theresa is also survived by her daughter, Linda and her husband David Elms, their three children, Melody and her husband Glenn, David and his wife Melanie, and Nathan and his wife Charla. Theresa is also survived by her daughter, Jolane, and her husband David Sandelin. Jolane's children, Jamen, and his wife Michelle, Marcy, and her husband, Hansi and Ian, and his wife, Laura. Jolane's children's father, Nick Nicholson preceded her in death. The father of Theresa's children, Hubert Benson, also preceded her in death. Theresa's life was blessed with nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

Theresa's nursing career brought much fulfillment into her life. Her love of people and concern for others flowed into her Christian ministry as she encouraged people of all ages to give themselves wholeheartedly to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. In her later years of life she is known for her intercessory life of prayer, carrying the burdens of scores of people to God in prayer.

Her passion in worshipping her God was demonstrated enthusiastically as she waved her handkerchief and sang praises to her Lord. Many will never forget when in her 90s, she walked the aisles of the church during worship with her walker, shouting and singing her praises to God. Theresa never met a stranger and if given half a chance, she would gladly begin to testify to them about the goodness of the Lord in her life.

Theresa and the love of her life, Gene Honeycutt, enjoyed traveling the backroads together loving life and loving each other. They both were entrepreneurs and ran their business of selling fruit and vegetables at a stand in the large Farmer's Market in south Charlotte. They would visit the orchards and farms within 200 miles of Charlotte in search of the best products with which to fill their stand. They brought their laughter and enthusiasm for life into their whole extended family. Gene preceded her in death.

Theresa's Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 19, at First Church Charlotte, 4929 North Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte. Visitation begins at 10 am, the service following at 12 noon. Internment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill following the service.

I didn't know the family at all but it's nice to hear she was serving God almighty. May God bless her soul and one of these days we'll worship God with her. I am a friend of Brother Bobo and his family. It's been years since I've seen or heard from them. I was the bass player for our church for years, right around the 80's. My Mom just passed away about a month ago and she too is praising God. I ran into Matthew Bobo a few years ago but we lost contact. I remember all three boys and Serah. Serah was probably three or four the last time I saw her. I hope everyone is healthy and doing well. I saw Brother Bobo s name on the internet and took a chance it was him. Anyway if you want to talk or text, my number is 909-658-9983 Email is: [email protected]
I would love to hear from you. God bless all of you and I'll keep your love one's in my prayers. Take care,. Raymond Murray.

Many years ago I had the honor of worshiping with this fine women of God. I will always have a fond memory of her praising the Lord in song with her handkerchief in hand! She touched my life with such kindness that will never be forgotten. May God's comfort be with her family.
