William Creech Obituary

William S. Creech CHARLOTTE - William Shurrell Creech, age 74, of Charlotte, died on Friday, June 21, 2013. Mr. Creech was born in Johnston County on September 19, 1938, to the late Henry Preston and Victoria Creech. Mr. Creech was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Chrysler Corporation after 31 years. He was a long time member of Providence Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC. A graveside service is scheduled for 4pm on Monday, June 24th, at Sunset Memorial Park, 70 Business and 210, Smithfield, NC, with Pastor Howard Scott officiating. The family will receive friends at Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the service. A memorial service in celebration of his life is scheduled for 2pm on Wednesday, June 26th, at Providence Baptist Church, 4921 Randolph Road, Charlotte, NC 28211, with Dr. Al Cadenhead officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Survivors are Janie Woodard Creech, wife; Doug and Karen Creech Baker, daughter and son-in-law; Rachel and Henry Baker, two grandchildren; Donald and Marie Creech, brother and sister-in-law; George and Shelba Keene, sister and brother-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Harold (H.P.) Creech, brother; Lester Creech, brother; Lucille C Holland, sister. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the North Carolina Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at 4530 Park Road, Suite 240, Charlotte, NC 28209, (704) 705-1850, or the family suggests a contribution to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, "From Imagination to Mission", 4921 Randolph Road, Charlotte, NC 28211.
