Michael Snyder Obituary

Michael Rodney Snyder
Michael Rodney Snyder, 55, of Tega Cay, SC, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 11, 2007. Born in Radford, Virginia on June 13, 1952, he was the son of Evelyn Snyder Cranford and the late Rodney F. Snyder. Mike lived in nearby Pulaski, Virginia until he was six years old before moving with his family to Charlotte in 1958.
After graduating from East Mecklenburg High School, Mike moved to Jamestown, NC where he worked for several years as a programmer for KayLyn Furniture Company. Mike's love of cars brought him back to Charlotte where he joined and later became sole owner of PAS Automotive. He had many loyal customers and friends. Most importantly, Mike was a devoted father of two teenagers who will miss him greatly.
Mike is survived by his son, Michael, and daughter, Melanie, and their mother, Lisa M. Snyder of Tega Cay, SC; his mother, Evelyn Snyder Cranford of Charlotte; and his sister, Carol Cowan of Matthews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Harry and Bryant Company 'Chapel in the Oaks', 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte with the Reverend Art Gatewood of Grace Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Harry and Bryant Company. Interment will be held privately at Evergreen Cemetery.

I know this is a bit late but I had not been to PAS since Jan of 2007. I walked in this morning looking for Mike at his desk to the right of the service counter where I would usually find him. I was completely floored about his passing. May he rest in peace.

We are saddened by Mike's unexpected death and know that he will be missed by his family and many friends. We knew Mike through being customers at PAS Automotive for many years. Over that time, we came to value Mike as a friend as well as for his knowledge and skill in caring for our car. It was always a pleasure to see him. Please accept our condolences.

Mike was not only my mechanic, but my friend, and I will miss him greatly. He was a proud Dad whose face lit up when he spoke of Michael and Melanie.

My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

First and foremost, Mike was a master mechanic, the purest of all the professions. He fixed people and things. I do not remember him ever using an unnecessary word.
It was a privilege to have known him.
