My condolences to the Spencer family. I just heard of Chrissy's passing and I am truly sorry for your loss. Somedays the grief can be overwhelming...so I'd like to share this poem that has helped me through the grief.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, The Chain will link again.

May you find comfort in God's Love

I didn't have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Chris or know her really well. I do know, though, that she was a Christian; that she loved her family dearly and missed her Mom so much; and that she loved her babies (feline and canine). Chris had such a warm heart, a bright outlook and a quick smile. I last saw her at a pet store in Mooresville last summer, and we talked about getting together for lunch soon. Her passing is a reminder to me that none of us know how much longer we have here, and we should cherish those we hold dear and never miss a chance to see or talk with them. I'm so blessed to have known Chris. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Jimmy and Pat, we feel blessed to have know all of the Spencer family for so many years. We count you as dear friends and we miss seeing you guys since we are no longer involved in racing. We loved Chrissy and always enjoyed being around her. I will never forget my days of scoring with Chrissy and what a sweet , fun, and caring person she always was. She always put others and their wants and needs above her own.
Remember all the wonderful times you had with her, relive them over and over again all the fun times...and take good care of Scruffy and Mitzi because Chrissy will be watching you from her heavenly home above.

Dear little Jimmy and all of the Spencer Family: It was with great sadness when we learned early Saturday that Chrissy had lost her battle. Jeff raced with all of his heart at the road course thinking of her and you. I had the great joy of knowing Crissy when we had our Nascar store in NY and then when Harry White introduced her to our son Jeffrey who was Jimmy Sr. crazy. At the time Jeff had great difficulties with his autism. She was so patient with him and treated him so dearly. Kindness is a family trait as our son Jeff has been so blessed by Crissy, Jimmy Sr. and little Jimmy. We will never forget how she,Jim Sr. and now little Jimmy touched and blessed Jeff. Jeffrey will always be the official Jimmy Spencer bus painter. We will continue to pray for your pain and rejoice with God as he now has removed all of her pain and struggle and given her the biggest victory that any of us could ever win. We love ya Jimmy Jon. I was very sorry to hear about Chirstine. We graduated from Berwick High School together many years ago, but I have never forgotten her. She was such a good person. I always asked about her when I went to the family business on Route 11 and wished that I could get together with her when she was in town. Unfortunaely, we never connected and it has been many years since I had seen her. My condolences and prayers go out to her family.

One of my greatest moments was being on a plane in 2001 going to a race and having Chrissy's parents on the plane from Pittsburgh to Indianapolis. To the Spencer family. I didnt know Mrs Spencer as I am a fan of Nascar and I raced at a local track in Va. Nascar has always focused on family and I feel like Nascar and me and my teammates that raced together at the local track are family and when one hurts we all hurt. I just wanted to say you have alot of family behind you now that hurts along with you. Mrs. Spencer sounded like a beautiful person inside and out that really care and enjoyed doing what she did. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. Godbless you and keep you and comfort you in this time.

My sympathies for the entire Spencer family. I knew of Chris as the head of Kyle Petty's fan club. She always responded to questions and listened to suggestions from the fans on how to make the fan club better. I didn't know she had cancer and having lost my aunt and yes, even my dog from cancer-it's very sad and again, I feel for the family. You are in my thoughts.
