Hal Stephens Houston
MOORESVILLE -- Mr. Houston, 78, of Mooresville, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011. Born on March 14, 1932 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Clyde Oren Houston and Winnie Lee Sigmon Houston. A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Houston was a local businessman and avid outdoorsman. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod in Hickory.
Mr. Houston is survived by his wife, Betty Turland Houston; daughters, Sherry Clifton and her husband, Chris, and Teresa Earnhardt; son, Mark Houston; grandchildren, Carina Clifton and Taylor Earnhardt; sisters, Clara Petrovich, Nancy Hefner, Ann Decker and Kay Norris; and brothers, Tommy Houston, Ken Houston and Ronald 'Slick' Houston.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod with the Reverend David Ziehr and the Reverend Paul D. Birner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
