Mr. James "Jimmy" Edward Tucker, age 84, of Shelby, NC passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2019. He was born on August 3, 1934 and was the only child of the late Ralph Jackson Tucker and, Elizabeth Borders Tucker. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Macon, Georgia.

He married the love of his life, Florence Anne Washburn on July 28, 1957. He attended Kings College in Charlotte, NC majoring in Accounting. He worked for Petroleum World in Cliffside, NC for over 40 years where he was a salesman and the manager of the motor oil division.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence Anne Washburn Tucker, their only child, Michael Andrew Tucker and wife, Tina Huntley Tucker; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild all of Shelby, NC.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Westview Baptist Church with the Dr. Rick Bowling officiating. Receiving of friends will be Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2-4PM at Cecil Burton Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
