After a courageous struggle with Alzheimer's dementia, William Lindsey Stafford, Jr. completed his journey on earth Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at his lakeside home. He attended Mineral Springs Schools graduating in 1959 and continued his studies at Wake Forest College and Law School, graduating in 1965 with a JD degree and subsequently passing the NC State Bar to begin his career. In 2015, he was recognized by the NC State Bar for 50 years of service.

Lin is survived by his wife, Sue Weddington; son John W. Stafford (Mary) Charlotte, daughter Nancy L. Stafford (Rob Geilhausen) Winston Salem; granddaughter Michelle Chaffee, Charlotte and two grandsons, Kevin Stafford, New York City and Will Smith, Charlotte, the mother of his children Cheryl W. Brannock, Winston Salem.

A Memorial service will be Monday, December 4th at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 308 W. Fisher St. Salisbury, NC.
