Adorea "Addie" Goodman; devoted mother of Laurie Benzion (Dr. Ira) Davis and the late Mark Lee Benzion; cherished grandmother of Michael and Alan Davis; dearest sister of the late Stanley Goodman, loving sister-in-law to Dorothy Goodman, dear aunt of Judy (Martin) Segal and Ronald (Linda) Goodman; plus many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Adorea was born in New York City and grew up in Galesburg, IL. She was an avid learner. She skipped two grammar school grades and completed her high school education at Stephens College. Adorea received her BA degree in Political Science and Spanish from Stanford University. She obtained her JD degree from Northwestern University School of Law by the age of 21 years old. Adorea was a member of the Illinois and Arizona Bar Associations for over 60 years and was a past president of the Illinois Women's Bar Association. Adorea was a lifetime member of NCJW and Hadassah. The family would like to especially acknowledge Margo Grogan, Tommy Stewart, Jaimie Zdeblick and the staff at Whitehall of Deerfield for their friendship and loving care during the final years of Adorea's life. Chapel services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at 2:30 p.m., at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Entombment at Shalom Memorial Park, Beth Shearim Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CGLR Leadership Fund, c/o Renee Kaplan, 1740 E. Summit Court, Deerfield, IL 60015. I have fond memories of your mother when we were friends. And her working at Central National Bank-where my family banked. I just read her obituary-what an accomplished woman she was. WOW!!!!
