I think about you often, along with your beautiful Mrs. It was such a joy to sit with you at Ivis's wedding, to work with you (and Jeff) at Blackwell...I can still hear you, cigar in your hand, arm raised, tire around your waist -- "Un dia!" -- while Jeff laughed in the background. You're missed by so many, Gene. Arden misses you, too. You made things better for lots of us. Thank you.

Dear Carole and family,
Gene gave me my start in Legal Administration as his assistant in the early 80's after teaching me in an ALA class. If it weren't for him I may never have become a Legal Administrator, a career I've followed for 20+ years. I have often thought in a tough situation "What would Gene Garlin do?". I just heard of his passing and I am so deeply sorry. He was a wonderful man who touched many lives and was an excellent example of how to be professional and how to laugh at it all as well.

Dear Carol and the Garlin Family: I am so very sorry for your loss. Gene was a beautiful, caring person. He took a chance and hired me at Sparber Shevin when I first came to FL in the early 80's. He was such a pleasure to know.I last saw him at the reunion and he told me that he was moving to Chicago to be with his family. I'm so glad he made that move. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and had the pleasure of calling him friend. My condolences to you. Best regards, Lorraine Massey

I am very sorry to hear about Gene's passing. He served as a consultant to me and my law firm just before his move to Chicago. We had many heart to heart talks. I always respected his opinion. He was also a very proud papa. I am really sad to hear the news and I wish the Garlin family comfort at this time. I know our office manager Mirlene feels the same way. I will think of him every time I watch Jeff with smiling thoughts. Barry Nelson

Dear Jeff, Carole and the Garlin family,
We've been out of the Country and just learned that Gene passed away. He was very dear to me, since our Blackwell Walker days. I last saw Gene (and Carole) at a wedding and reminded him how special he was to me. The world has lost a true gentleman. I treasure the "Coffee Break" video we made. I am so sorry he's gone, but grateful for having known him - and Mrs. Garlin, and of course, Jeff. I'll never forget Gene. My deepest sympathies. Donna
