George Marquardt V

Bill Marquardt died November 16, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona from complications related to ALS. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Bill was 82 years old. Bill grew up in Evanston, IL where he graduated from Evanston High School and was very active in the local YMCA. He attended Princeton for two years, before transferring to finish his education at Northwestern University. After graduation he joined Continental Illinois National Bank in Chicago. He was then drafted and proudly spent two years in the U.S. Army. He then returned to Continental Bank and spent the rest of his career holding many positions at the Bank. He retired in 1994 as a Senior Vice President. In 1997, he and his wife Beth moved from Lake Forest, IL to Scottsdale, Arizona. He spent his summers in his beloved Cuchara, Colorado. He looked forward to this time he spent with his family and friends in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. He was very active in the local community chapel, and had a great group of friends he played tennis with every morning. Bill enjoyed travel, playing tennis, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Beth; daughters Heather Knotts and Cindy Marquardt; son George William Marquardt VI and five grandchildren.
