Steven Brumm(1952 - 2017)

photoChicago IL. S. Peter Brumm formerly of Marquette, passed on to eternal life on September 14, 2017 after battling an aggressive form of cancer in Chicago Illinois. He was the son of Leonard W. (Oakie) and Frances G. (Buzz) (Buswell) Brumm and was born in 1952 in Fairbanks Alaska. He was predeceased by his father. Peter was raised in Marquette, Michigan and loved playing hockey and tennis, drawing and painting and working with anything wood. He graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1970 and from the Michigan State University 1974 with a BA Degree in communications. After which he moved to Florida to work in prisoner rehabilitation. He moved to Chicago in 1980, where he met his life partner Gregory Cordero in 1980. Peter was an accomplished artist and plied his artistic skills as a picture frame designer and maker. In 2002, he and Greg started their own frame shop, Frames First in Chicago IL and were in business until his passing. Peter loved supporting the Chicago Blackhawks hockey and the "Bears" football team. Peter remained close with six of his college friends, better known as the Bag-End boys and together they loved to vacation at their lake cottages, and take in art and film shows. Peter loved to hike, design and plant gardens, write poetry, and was the idea man for many artistic projects. He mentored many friends and family in their artistic endeavors and meditation techniques. Peter Brumm is survived by his life partner of 37 years, Gregory Cordero of Chicago IL, mother Frances G. Brumm Green Bay WI and siblings, Patricia Ruppe of Green Bay WI, Perry Brumm (Linda) of Milwaukee, WI, Paulette LaJeunesse (Richard) of Green Bay WI, Penelope Brumm Edwards (Robert) of Chicago, IL, and Pamela Brumm-Kissick (William) of Rocklin, CA. He had seven nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins. Peter will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
